About
Peter van Riet

Past speaking engagemens
Peter Van Riet is a Belgian designer, innovator and strategic thinker who has spent his career helping companies navigate change through the power of design. As co-author of Create Meaningful Stuff, he challenges leaders and teams to rethink the way they create products, services and experiences, moving away from complexity and abundance toward clarity, purpose and lasting value.
For Peter, design is not merely about aesthetics or form; it is a method to understand the world, to respond to cultural and technological shifts, and to make choices that matter.
He works with companies to uncover what is truly meaningful for their customers and to translate that insight into products and experiences that create real resonance.
Over the past decades, he has founded and led design studios, collaborated with global brands, and guided organizations through strategic transitions.
He has seen from the inside how ideas become reality, and what it takes to shift culture, systems and behavior. His talks blend real business cases with accessible creative tools and a grounded philosophy centered on design as a way to make sense of change.
Whether speaking about innovation, sustainability, creativity or strategic design, Peter brings energy, humanity and a refreshing straightforwardness that inspires audiences to act. His keynotes invite people to slow down, look deeper, and rethink the role of creation in a world that is moving fast — and to rediscover the value of making things that truly matter.

Focus on the journey (Create meaningful stuff)
Peter Van Riet wants to contribute to the important economic and societal transition, being the abundance of products and services, which unfortunately add very little value to our lives. Our current industrial model is not improving our happiness. Moreover, it is exhausting our planet. Luckily, there is a growing awareness amongst consumers and business leaders that the world needs smart, sustainable and meaningful products and services.
Radical design is not just about creating an object, but about truly diving into an experience. Peter will share his vision on radical design and a methodology to create meaningful stuff. The process in itself is always an incredible journey.
Forces of change
Change is all around, in our personal live and in our business. Change means leaving things behind to enter an uncertain future. We fear and resist change. On the other hand change is exciting. Change is what defines us, our brand, our business, our industry.
Designer Peter Van Riet approaches change from a personal and a professional point of view, and explains how design is an approach to deal with change and to create meaning.
Design is not an object, Design is an action.
It looks like change is everywhere, but at the same time nowhere. If oldschool innovation doesn't work anymore and competition comes from everywhere, we need other tools to come up with the next big thing.
Radical Design is not just about creating an object, or a service, but about truly diving into an experience.
